Sell online

April 28, 2010

Selling online involves several components to be available.

To begin with:  a  shopping cart is essential, closely followed by payment processing ie Paypal or payment gatewaysuch Sagepay, Worldpay.

Depending on the number of products/services, B2C or B2B, we can then advise on the best shopping cart for your needs.

Shopping Cart /Basket

1) Under 20 products and product details change occasionally then a paypal Shoping cart may suffice. We will code in all your products and use your PayPal basket to run the shop.

2) If your website requires a shopping cart, basket and payment facilities to work seamlessly within the website. Then our bespoke shopping cart will be best. we will build a simple content management system, for you to log into and update your products. Sagepay or Paypal can then be used as the Payment gateway.

3) Or You have 50+ products, and require a Content management system to run the website, full shopping facilities, wish lists, invoicing and/or link to your back office. Then we have the shopping cart for you. We will build the site to fit fit into your current web template.

Payment Processing

The simplest method is the Paypal route, when we simply plug in their shopping basket and payment processing. The commission on sales is determined, and taken at source ,by Paypal, This route is a good option for smaller retailers, however larger b2c retailers normall have Paypal as a 2nd alternative to their main option.

For the mid to large retailer the best method will be using a specialist payment gateway such as SagePay (whom we can recommend). They will process the payments with your business bank for a more efficient service. The payment gateway is then hooked up to the Shopping cart and off you go to test payments before Launch.

The above are only the basics, so give us a call, and we can talk through your specific requirements.

For May 2010 we are running a special offer on new Shopping cart builds please contact us for more info.
